The CYPHER Stamp Club
(Denver Young Collectors)

Founded in 1991, The Rocky Mountain Philatelic Library serves as the largest resource for stamp collectors interested in researching, exhibiting, and gathering to discuss philatelic matters. It is the largest library dedicated to the hobby of stamp collecting west of the Mississippi River.

The CYPHER Stamp Club provides children an opportunity to explore the world through the hobby of stamp collecting. The regular monthly meeting consists of a 15-20 minute presentation related to a specific stamp collecting topic, stamp issuing country, or instruction on the proper use of stamp collecting tools. This is followed by a 20-30 minute, hands-on, activity designed to build upon the subject matter of the presentation. There is plenty of opportunity for children to actively participate, ask and answer questions and assist other children.  Children are encouraged to explore their interests and prepare an exhibit for presentation, and competition, at the annual Rocky Mountain Stamp Show. Club members are also afforded the opportunity to add stamps to their collection by going through our "treasure tubs" of loose United States and Worldwide stamps. We also have a limited number of topical stamp albums, children are able to select 5-10 stamps from these albums. A small snack, and drinks, are provided at the end of the club meeting. We do our best to provide collecting materials, supplies, stamps, and snacks free to all club members.
